Zumba Steps

Zumba consists of a combination of fitness moves and Latin dance elements from cha cha, salsa, merengue, reggaeton, cumbia and even hip hop. There is much freedom in terms of Zumba steps and the instructor has the liberty to improvise the training routine as he/she considers fit. It is not difficult to follow zumba steps even if you are a beginner, but after a few sessions you will see that you get the routine and feel the rhythm much better. It’s all about getting started!

The zumba steps and routines are designed so that you may find the zumba class attractive and useful at the same time. With every workout, you train the body in a very pleasant way, replacing the traditional and rather exhausting moves of high intensity aerobics. It is very important that you don’t worry about how well you are doing the zumba steps. Many people feel awkward because they think everybody’s watching. In fact, every zumba dancer is more preoccupied with entering the music and dancing well. Nobody has the time to watch the neighbor.

Have fun! Zumba steps will come naturally if you pay attention to the instructor. Get your attention on how you move your feet first and then continue with the arms, hips and the rest! With every class, zumba steps get easier, and since a routine is usually used for about 8 to 10 weeks in a row, you have plenty of time to learn it and boost your self-confidence. It will then be a lot easier to learn new zumba steps because you have the experience of prior workouts and routines.

Zumba steps have been created so that everybody can enjoy this form of fitness. Nevertheless, it is good to let your instructor know whether you suffer from back, knees, ankles or elbow troubles or if you have vertigo. It is safer to talk to your doctor and see whether you are allowed to practice a rather intense dance form like zumba, because the faster part of interval training could become very uncomfortable for a chronic patient.

The zumba steps taught by one instructor or another are slightly different, even if the songs used for the routines are usually recommended by the zumba network. Yet, there is no harm in throwing in some international rhythms or use music according to personal preferences for warm ups and cool downs. Every class and instructor offers something new, so that zumba can’t stop being exciting. It’s impossible not to like it!
